Top Down Bottom Up

The top down bottom up feature is a great way to add versatility to shades. The one knock on standard shades (bottom up) is that they go two ways, up and down. So your treatment is either opened or closed, there isn't much middle ground. The top down bottom up adds another rail in the shade that can be lowered from the top. Now you have to moving rails in the window, the bottom rail and a top rail, thus making your shade do a lot more.

It's a nice feature on any shade but it seems to make the most sense on blackout shades in the bedrooms. It's 6:30 in the morning, I'd rather not turn on the lights, I'd rather not have to raise my blind up sacrificing privacy, it just makes sense to drop the top a few inches to let the early sunlight in. It doesn't have to be added to every shade, I'd recommend using it on either the biggest shade in the room or the shade that you use the most.

Although plantation shutters have little in common with shades, they can utilize the top down bottom up feature as well. It's called a split tilt. In the privacy rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms, I recommend people split the louvers at around head height. Now you have two separate channels for your louvers, you can close the bottom 2/3's for privacy but leave the top few louvers opened to allow light in. Making your treatments as versatile as possible without making them complicated is a win win.

Friendly

I redecorated my entire condo from floor to ceiling and interacted with many contractors and home service providers in the process. AAA Blind Factory was the rare company with which I had zero problems. From my initial visit to consult on their products, to the in-home visit to measure my windows (a MUST - let the professionals measure since each *identical* window had slightly different dimensions), to final installation, AAA Blind Factory was friendly, professional, and and customer-focused. The Hunter Douglas shades look great!

Honest

I have not received my blinds yet, but let me tell you, AAA Blind Factory is the best. They came out and measured my sliders, I provided them with a deposit check. Unbeknownst to me, I had torn off 2 checks and they had a blank check of mine. Yesterday in the mail, they had returned my blank check! Thank you AAA Blind for being honest and taking the customer service up many more notches.

Wonderful

We purchased a blind at AAA Blind Store. My husband decided to install it himself. Probably not the best choice. Once he mounted it properly the wand mechanism wouldn’t raise the shade. I brought it back and they said they would repair it. The next day they called, said they would reinstall it and make sure the wand worked correctly. We had dreaded reinstalling it yet again. They came adjusted the mounting and explained why we had trouble. WONDERFUL SERVICE.

Great

I've had two great experiences with AAA Blind Factory in Bonita. When we bought our condo, there was a problem with the roller shades. We had two different companies come out and take a look. One said they couldn't be fixed and would have to be replaced with something completely different. The other said they could be repaired but at a very high cost. Then someone recommended I call Rick at AAA. He worked with the manufacturer to solve the problem at a fraction of the cost of replacement and without the hassle of a whole new installation. He took care of all the details (which included shipping a 12' roll back to the factory). A year later we asked Rick to take a look at another large window. He came up with a solution that looks better and cost less than we expected. Two great experiences. I've recommended Rick and AAA to neighbors without hesitation.
